OUR HISTORY

Anchored in Faith, Growing in Grace

Our story began in 1979 when a small community, with a heart for inclusive Christian education, opened Pennant Hills Christian School (PHCS) with one teacher and eight students in two rented rooms. Within a year, enrolments grew to 41, and by 1981 secondary classes commenced. In 1985, Dr E J (Ted) Boyce became Principal, guiding a season of growth. The school moved to Quarry Road, Dural, and was renamed Pacific Hills Christian School in 1986.

2008 - Present
The Journey From One School to a Group

In 2008, God opened a new chapter. Pacific Hills was invited to resurrect the failed school, Lakeside Christian College (Tweed Heads), by purchasing the land and buildings from the liquidator Banana Coast Credit Union. Soon after, in 2009, another small school was commenced called Pacific Valley Christian School.

In 2017, a school at Muswellbrook joined the family, now named Pacific Brook Christian School. In 2023, Berowra Christian School became part of the Group, taking on the new name Pacific Berowra Christian School. These schools and others form the Pacific Group of Christian Schools, which has since grown to a network of ten schools across NSW.

Today, the Pacific Group’s impact extends far beyond Pacific Hills Christian School to a broader set of communities focused on special needs education, online education, early learning centres, the development of Christian Aboriginal Schools, OneMaker Academy, after school hours care, a Trainee Teacher Program and other initiatives that form part of Pacific Group of Christian Schools.

Each school is operating to express our enduring mission: excellence in teaching, learning and serving in Christ-centred community.

A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness

From a single classroom to a multi-school group, our history is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the faithful partnership of families, staff, and churches. As we look ahead, we remain committed to raising generations who will glorify God in their studies, their service, and their lives.
